When awareness informs breath, movement, and alignment, practice becomes both intelligent and sustainable.

Alignment isn’t something we learn once, but something we return to.

Over time, repetition can quietly turn into a habit. While familiarity builds confidence, it can also mask subtle patterns that:

  • limit breath

  • strain joints

  • disconnect us from sensation

And this is important!

What we’ll explore

In this two‑hour workshop, we’ll slow down familiar sequences to explore refined alignment, breath awareness, and intelligent transitions, including:

Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutations)
Standing poses
Balancing poses

Particular attention will be given to Chaturanga Dandasana (low plank pose), and the transition to Bhujangasana (cobra pose) and Urdhva Mukha Svanasana (upward-facing dog) breaking down common habits and offering:

sustainable options
necessary modifications
shoulder‑supportive approaches
all in service of long‑term joint health.

Who this is for

This workshop is designed for:

  • newer practitioners wanting strong foundations

  • long‑time practitioners looking to refine, reconnect, and move more intelligently

No matter your experience level, the focus is on awareness, not performance.

What to expect

  • Slowing down familiar movements

  • Exploring nuanced alignment details

  • Increased breath awareness

  • Time for inquiry and reflection

  • Reconnecting to poses you already know in a more embodied way

What you’ll leave with

  • Practical tools you can integrate immediately

  • Greater awareness and efficiency in movement

  • Increased stability and ease

  • A refreshed relationship with familiar poses

Not to perfect shapes —
but to move with clarity, support, and sustainability.

The practice will be thoughtfully challenging, with space at the end to fully rest and integrate in a generous savasana.

Small refinements, practiced consistently, create lasting support.

About Elli

Elli was first introduced to yoga around 1999 at the local community center, surrounded by older women doing some “stretching.” As you might imagine, it didn’t catch her full attention! It became more of a habit in 2005 and in 2010, Vinyasa Yoga entered her life and taught her what discipline and a moving meditation felt like. In 2015, at the nudge of one of her teachers, she signed up for a training and received her 200hr certification. She moved to Athens in 2017 and had much more time to slow down, self-study, and take her practice and understanding of yoga much deeper. The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali are what inspire and teach her to make sense of the world and how to live a life of understanding and self-reflection in order to keep evolving.
